The red carpets at the Toronto International Film Festival are becoming an important place to make a fashion impression. Many of the biggest labels in the world clamor to dress the festival’s biggest stars, which is why we spotted looks by Salvatore Ferragamo, Marc Jacobs, Marchesa, Prada and more during the first few daysof the fest. One of the people masterminding the major moments is stylist Elizabeth Stewart. She is in Toronto helping three of her clients create memorable looks -- The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby star Jessica Chastain (shown in Atelier Versace), Gravity star Sandra Bullock and August: Osage County star Julia Roberts. Stewart traveled with Roberts all day Sunday as the actress chatted with press, including a stop at InStyle, which is when we learned about the stylist’s busy TIFF schedule. For her, it’s all about surprising fashion fans. “For Sandra, we were going to go with something different, more gown-like,” Stewart said of the Narciso Rodriguez premiere look (shown above). “But we went with this and it worked.” She’s taking a similar approach to Roberts, choosing comfortable styles that aren't too Plain Jane. "She's wearing red, and it's going to surprise you,” she said of the Dolce & Gabbana look Roberts wore to premiere her film. “It's not her usual color.” Good thing these movies are getting knockout reviews -- that means more opportunities for knockouts on the red carpet.
