Follow Our Easy GIF Guide to Recreate This Star Wars Makeup Look for Halloween
No need to travel to a galaxy far, far away go get a look so out-of-this world for Halloween! To create the Mystic look from the stunning CoverGirl and Star Wars campaign images, we partnered with makeup artist Jennifer Fleming, who demonstrated the effect on InStyle.com Beauty Intern Samantha Faragalli. We're obsessed with how the green and purple eye can perfectly complement any space-age costume out there while making a statement all on its own—and luckily, the look is surprisingly easy to master at home. Scroll down to see her Fleming's in action, and to get step-by-step directions for how you can try it out on yourself.
Begin with a layer of the CoverGirl Bombshell Shine Shadow in Color Me Money ($9; drugstore.com), a metallic gold, as your base color.
Pick up the Shadow Quad in Va-Va Violets ($9; drugstore.com) and use a flat shadow brush to blend the darkest amethyst hue onto outer edges of your lids.
With a dome-tipped blending brush, diffuse the dark purple color into your crease, creating an ombré effect. Then, pick up a flat shadow brush and press the bold Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Lime Light ($4; drugstore.com) onto the inner portion of your eye.
Sweep the second-lightest purple hue from the palette underneath your lower lashes to keep the color going, then finish with a few generous coats of the CoverGirl Star Wars Waterproof Mascara ($8; drugstore.com).
To avoid having to clean up any shadow fallout, we recommend completely finishing your eye makeup before moving on with your concealer and foundation routine. On Faragalli, Fleming used the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation ($12; drugstore.com).
To finish, apply a layer of the CoverGirl Star Wars Lipstick in Lilac ($9; drugstore.com).
The final look.
