Game of Thrones’s Sophie Turner Reveals the Real Reason She and Maisie Williams Got Matching Tattoos
It turns out that there is some good that comes out of all the bloodshed on Game of Thrones. Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, who play sisters Sansa and Arya Stark on the hit HBO show, have fostered a beautiful friendship during their six seasons (so far!) on the series, and they even have the matching tattoos to prove it.
We learned on Tuesday that the duo had gotten inked when U.K. tattoo artist Miss Kat Paine shared a photo of herself with the GoT stars, writing, “Got to tattoo these gorgeous girlies today.” Paine confirmed that the tattoos were matching but didn’t want to steal the girls’ thunder by revealing the design.
Luckily, on the 2016 Emmy Awards red carpet, Turner gave us a first look at the stunning, peach-colored ink. The Thrones star now has an adorable “07.08.09” marking on her arm, a nod to the date both girls landed their roles on the show.
“She’s one of my best friends in the whole world,” Turner told E! of her co-star. “The date was always really significant and we always kind of said … With thrones we were always planning from Season 1, we were like, if we make it all the way through we should get matching wolves or something,” she said. “We don’t know if we’re going to make it through so Maisie and I, we were like, okay let’s get these ones before anyone kills us, which is so possible.”
So why peach-colored ink? “I got it peach because my mom was like, make sure it doesn’t show up,” the 20-year-old joked.

The star, who looked stunning in a sheer black Valentino gown, Forevermark jewels, and Louboutin shoes, also shared her thoughts on the Season 7 Game of Thrones script.
"I was actually speechless. This season is unbelievable and I think fans are going to be really satisfied,” she teased.
