It’s officially that time of year when families everywhere watch and re-watch every Charlie Brown holiday TV special, but that’s not the only way to get your Peanuts fix this week. This Monday in Los Angeles, the adorable and always-smiling Snoopy hopped off camera and onto the red carpet to receive his official star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Reuters reports.

The beloved comic strip character danced about his newly minted star and posed alongside pop-up figurines of Charlie Brown and pal Lucy. Snoopy—who was created in 1950 and has made cameos in 45 TV specials and four major films—posed with children and fans of his work as well as his shiny new star. And if a trip to Hollywood may not be on your radar, you don’t have to travel far to see a glimpse of the 65-year-old star: The Peanuts Movie, starring Snoopy and the motley crew of colorful cartoon characters, hits theatres Friday.
