Shoshanna Designed an Eye-Popping Cosmetics Case for Elizabeth Arden

Though often perceived as separate entities, the fashion and beauty worlds tend to collide quite a bit—especially as of late. More and more, designers are partnering with cosmetics companies to launch their own makeup lines: Proenza Schouler and MAC, Pierre Hardy and NARS, and Cynthia Rowley and Birchbox, to name a few. The latest big name to drink the proverbial Kool-Aid? Shoshanna Gruss, whose eponymous collection of fun and flirty dresses makes wedding season a breeze.

The New York-based designer has teamed up with global beauty brand Elizabeth Arden to become its first ever Style Director, a role that enables her to apply creative sartorial direction to all products. For her first project, Gruss designed a cosmetics bag in a vibrant, water color-like print (above, right), that's one of her all-time favorites from her collection. "The brightness makes it easy to spot if you need to put yourself together quickly!" she told InStyle.com. Plus, it's made of a water-resistant material that won't get damaged from the inevitable staining created by half-open compacts and leaky foundation bottles. The limited-edition case, which also doubles as a clutch, can be yours with an Elizabeth Arden purchase of $32.50 at Macy's in July, and at Elizabeth Arden retailers this fall.
