Shannen Doherty isn't letting her battle with breast cancer hold her back, as she continues to prove. The actress confirmed Monday that she has signed on for TV Land's Heathers reboot, posting an on-set photo of herself on her Instagram page.

"Sneak peek from the #Heathers set..... jealous much? @tvland," Doherty captioned the snap (above), which shows her rocking brunette locks pulled back into a side ponytail as she stands on a porch and gives a mischievous look to the camera.

The actress, who played Heather Duke in the original 1988 flick, wears the same red scrunchie her character rocks in the original film, which was considered Heather's symbol of power.

While details on Doherty's character in the new show are currently under wraps, TV Land confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she will play a "pivotal, unnamed character".

The original cult classic centers on teen Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder) who teams up with sociopath Jason Dean (Christian Slater) to try to kill their high school's ultra cool-girl clique composed of three girls named Heather.

The small screen version will reportedly have a new heroine attempting to take on her own set of Heathers with each season.
