InStyle's editorial guidelines Updated on April 30, 2018 @ 11:00AM Pin Share Tweet Email In case you forgot, Serena Williams and royal-to-be Meghan Markle are pretty good girlfriends, which is why now, the tennis superstar is offering some advice for her upcoming wedding to Prince Harry. Williams spoke to Good Morning America about the royal wedding and yes, revealed what advice she'd give to Markle. “I just think it’s so important to enjoy the moment—and eat cake! I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun,” she said of her own 2017 nuptials to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. “If I could give her any advice it would just be to enjoy the preparation, enjoy the planning, it goes so fast.” In fact, she turned to Instagram to share that they recently had a slice of a replica of the cake she forgot to have at her wedding. So will she be attending? It doesn’t sound like it considering her busy tennis tournament schedule. “I don’t know. I think it’s during one of the tournaments so we’ll see if I can make it. Robin, don’t be asking me them questions!” she joked, playing coy to GMA’s Robin Roberts. The wedding takes place two days before the start of the French Open in Paris, so if she did want to attend, the timing is less than ideal. Last week, Williams also shared her enthusiasm for her friend. “I’m obviously super happy for her,” she told ET. “She’s such a great girl and she is incredibly nice and I couldn’t be happier for her.” Considering Markle’s BFFs also include Priyanka Chopra, something tells us May 19—Markle and Harry’s big day—will have a star-studded guest list.
