Serena Williams's Famous Friends Pumped Her Up After She Got Real About Being a Working Mom
She may not have a typical 9-to-5 job, but Serena Williams knows that being a mom and working on top of it (though her jobs as a tennis pro has its own set of circumstances) isn't as glamorous as social media makes it look. In her latest Instagram post, Williams wrote about how exhausting and stressful motherhood can be, but added that she's inspired seeing mothers out there being amazing moms every day. Of course, her words touched a few of her pals, who offered amazing words of support in the comments.
"I am not sure who took this picture but Working and being a mom is not easy. I am often exhausted, stressed, and then I go play a professional tennis match," she wrote. "We keep going. I am so proud and inspired by the women who do it day in and day out. I’m proud to be this baby’s mama."
"Your truth is so inspiring. We are not alone," Kerry Washington wrote.
"This this this," Mindy Kaling added.
"Facts," Reese Witherspoon commented, adding a star emoji. Gabrielle Union and Karlie Kloss also left clusters of encouraging emoji in the comments section.
Entertainment Tonight notes that just last September, Williams wrote that baby Olympia was her greatest accomplishment in a post to commemorate her daughter's birthday.
"The last 2 years have been my greatest accomplishment," she wrote.
Williams's husband, Alexis Ohanian, posted his own tribute, writing, "the greatest thing we've ever done."
