Selena Gomez can add another credit to her rapidly growing resume. The actress-singer will executive produce a new project for Netflix based on YA-bestseller 13 Reasons Why. The screen adaptation will be a 13-episode straight-to-Netflix series. As of now, Gomez is not set to star in the project.

13 Reasons Why tells the story of a Clay Jenson, a teenage boy who receives a box of casettes from his classmate that recently committed suicide, Hannah. The tapes document what led Hannah to take her own life, and are sent along with instructions to pass from one student to another to explain how each person contributed to her decision to commit suicide. Pretty heavy stuff.

According to Deadline, the pilot will be written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Brian Yorkey. As of now, no further information is available, but we'll be waiting with bated breath to learn more.
