Now We Know What Selena Gomez Thought of Her Heavily Critiqued Met Gala Look
Selena Gomez is known for preaching positivity to her fans, but during the Met Gala this week, that kindness was not returned (to put it mildly).
By now, you've probably seen the memes which addressed the very bronzey makeup that the singer paired with her custom Coach slip dress on the red carpet.
"selena gomez dares to show up to the met gala in her granny’s nightgown from 1930, streaky fake tan and concealer on her lips and expects me to not make fun of her," wrote one Twitter user.
"Selena Gomez’s makeup artist and hairstylist did her so dirty," said another.
Although the judgments got harsher—even sparking the hashtag #WeAreSorrySelena to trend on Twitter once her fans stepped in to combat the hate—Gomez didn't say anything. In fact, she remained uncharacteristically mum for the entirety of the event, not even posting a picture of herself in her outfit on her Instagram—until now.
Gomez broke her silence over the whole ordeal on Wednesday morning, and it seems like she might actually agree with some of what was said about her look.
"Me when I saw my pictures from MET," she captioned on a video of herself literally running away from the Met Gala, leaving her lengthy white train to drag behind her through the grimy New York City streets. (Avert your eyes, Stuart Vevers!) We hope she's got her dry cleaner on speed dial.
What can we say, at least Selena proved she's got a good sense of humor about the whole thing. Even if her Instagram comments remain turned off.
