Who can forget her sultry scenes in the "Good For You" music video? And though her chart-topping hits evidence her maturity, it’s her newfound style that has us talking. Dressed in a sporty Louis Vuitton dress, Gomez was on hand Monday evening to present Kate Young the award for Stylist of the Year at our InStyle Awards in Los Angeles. The 23-year-old made headlines with her rousing speech about confidence, however, it was her kind words towards Young and her talent that impressed us: “I just feel like she brings me to this very classic, simple place. I just feel like a woman, if that makes sense. She’s made me feel like a woman.” Stylist Kate Young on Selena Gomez's New Look: "We Don't Want Her to Look 40" And that feeling has clearly resonated with fans over the past year. Since Gomez and Young joined forces, the brunette beauty has killed it in everything from innovative, off-the-runway Monse shirt-inspired dresses to elevated pairings that showcase her simple approach to dressing. “Ultimately, when you push yourself and there’s change, that’s when you get your best anything—your best music, your best work, your best everything. To me, she made me feel really great,” Gomez added. “When you’re young, especially my generation, you think sexy is always the way to go. I didn’t know that there were different versions of sexy that could be possible until I met Kate. She really opened my eyes to feel sexy as a woman without needing certain things.” PHOTOS: Go Inside Our Star-Studded InStyle Awards Bash We can’t wait to see what the singer sports next. —With reporting by Brianna King Was this page helpful?
