Sam Smith is off the market! The singer, whose new album The Thrill of It All drops on Nov. 3, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday and dished about his relationship status.

Smith says after winning an Oscar in 2016, he took some time off. “It all got a bit too much. After the Oscar I just really needed to hug my mom and just be with my sisters and go back home. A lot of mom snuggles,” he told DeGeneres.

While back in London, he also took the time to “kiss more boys” and thus get the inspiration for his new album. “I did kiss a few men. I ran around the streets of London, had a good time. I kind of got back to normal life last year,” Smith said. “My music is about love, and it’s important to just take that time to allow your heart to have it a little bit.”

In fact, Smith confirmed that he is no longer single. The singer was recently photographed kissing 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn, who plays Justin Foley on the show.

“It’s weird bringing out an album and not being single. Because when I brought In the Lonely Hour out, I was so lonely. But now I’m singing songs about another guy, but I’m quite happy. So it’s quite weird,” he added.

Smith says there are about four or five songs about that particular ex on his new album. “The rest are about other people. A song for every boy,” he said.

We can’t wait to hear what music Smith makes about his new romance with Flynn.
