Saint Laurent's latest campaign by newly appointed creative director Anthony Vaccarello is nothing short of stunning. The fashion house released images from it Thursday, with Anja Rubik starring as the face of Saint Laurent woman.
In one of the black-and-white SS17 campaign shots, captured on the wharfs of the Seine River in Paris by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Rubik leans against a bridge with her blonde hair tousled and covering her face. The model rocks a faded denim jacket, and shows off her legs in a plunging sequined black-and-gold onesie—and nothing else.
According to Saint Laurent, the campaign is "like a tribute to Paris," with it showing the city between two banks and the brand's new collection. Rubik portrays a "free, hedonist, and elusive woman" in the campaign, which also references the heritage of the fashion house with a juxtaposition of leather, jewels, and lace and a wardrobe that is much about "drawing a femininity without frills."
The campaign debuts in international magazines today, and will appear on billboards in Paris starting September 28.
