Even if you adore social media, you know that it has its scary moments.

That's why many users need breaks from it here and there, to recalibrate, and why some people refrain from it altogether. Ruth Negga is in the latter group, as she is positively terrified of social media.

"Instagram and Twitter, I don't engage with any of it—it terrifies the s— out of me," the actress reveals in her cover story for The Edit.

"And I've never been on Facebook, ever. What that means is that I'm always the last to find something out, and my friendship group is very small, but, I would hope, committed," she adds.

The second season of the Oscar-nominated actress's hit TV series Preacher is underway—a show she stars in with boyfriend Dominic Cooper. Of working with her beau, she stated, "It would be so lonely if he wasn't there. People say, 'Never go out with an actor.' But if you were with someone with a normal job, and one of you had to go away, how would that work?" Another wise point by Negga.

She also divulged her thoughts on becoming a mother. "By the time you're in a great relationship, it's like, oh, I'm 35," she admits. "So there is part of your thinking that is: Do I want kids? When? If? How?" These all are questions that take up major brain space for Negga. "And that's not being an actor, it's being a woman," she continues. "I don't know what [job] really creates a safe space for a woman to have time out, prolong the human race, and return to work in a very supportive way."
