Runway Looks We Love: Marc Jacobs
Designer: Marc Jacobs
Location: Park Avenue Armory
What was it like: Stepping into the Park Avenue Armory on the last night of NYFW for the Marc Jacobs runway show felt like taking a step back in time to an era of old New York glamour, complete with dapper waiters handing out vodka straight up. The runway and backdrop was hand painted by brilliant set designer Stefan Beckman, and was inspired by a Jeremiah Goodman painting of famed editor Diana Vreeland's Manhattan living room.
Why we love this collection: The dark hues, heavy embellishments, intricate textures and dramatic silhouettes made for a memorable, emotional end to the week. The accessories were equally as lust-worthy—from ladylike leopard handbags to naughty-meets-nice leather gloves. In fact, the gloves, both wrist- and opera- length, were the standout accessories of the night, with each model, including Kendall Jenner and late-'90s icon Erin O'Connor, wearing a pair.
