All eyes were on Ruby Rose last night at the 27th annual GLAAD Media Awards because she was being honored, but she was also turning heads with her statement hair. Setting off a sexy white jumpsuit, Rose rocked leprechuan green locks that were braided and piled into a nouveau updo.

Rose was quick to credit her hairstylist. "The guy who does my hair is a genius," she told InStyle. "It took him about 15-20 minutes to do it. If I did it, it would take three days."

But the head-turning color wasn't just to start some trend. "[My] hair is neon green right now for a film and I just didn’t want to have my hair…like when I look back on this video and show my children like ‘I won this amazing award.’ I don’t want them to say, ‘why is your hair green mom?’" Rose said. "So, I decided to try and hide it a little bit and that’s what this is. You can still see it’s green, but it’s not screaming like I have green hair but we’re all going to pretend like it’s happening right now."
