A British Royal Just Walked the Met Gala Red Carpet in a Tiara
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding is just 12 days away, but rather than preparing for the big day in the U.K., a very close member of the British royal family is instead in the United States at a very different major event: the Met Gala. Prince Harry’s first cousin, Princess Beatrice, walked the red carpet at Monday night’s event in a dress fit for a literal princess.
The royal chose a royal purple gown with long sleeves and gold detailing around the shoulders and neckline, pairing the dress with a black box clutch and a tiara, of course. See more stunning red carpet looks from the 2018 Met Gala in our gallery.
Beatrice is the daughter of Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s third child, making her both the queen’s granddaughter and Prince Harry’s cousin. And Princess Beatrice isn’t the first member of the British royal family to attend a Met Gala. Her late aunt, Princess Diana, attended the 1996 Met Gala in a navy Dior slip dress paired with an on-trend choker.
The only thing missing was a tiara.
