Is Ronda Rousey the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Cover Girl?
Prepare to gather some clues and channel your inner Sherlock Holmes, because Sports Illustrated officially has us on detective duty.
On Tuesday, SI editor MJ Day took to Instagram to offer a sneak peak of the magazine’s highly anticipated annual Swimsuit Issue. “#instabooty if 2016 keeps going like this then I’m going to be one happy happy girl #bootypaint #siswimsuit,” she wrote alongside the below, in-your-face shot.
In the photo, a tan, blonde-haired beauty with an impressively athletic physique mysteriously poses for the camera and shows off a barely-there swimsuit that, according to SI, is entirely composed of body paint, a tool the publication has previously used on statuesque stars like Hailey Clauson. And while the image doesn't include the face of the lucky cover girl, devoted Instagram fanatics are using her multi-colored, circular wrist tattoos as evidence to prove that it's former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
So will Rousey follow in the footsteps of previous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue stars like Hannah Davis, Chrissy Teigen, and Kate Upton? While the magazine has neither denied nor confirmed whether Rousey is in fact the woman in question, we can expect the cover to be revealed next month. Until then, make sure to catch a glimpse of Rousey as the host of Saturday Night Live on Jan. 23.
