On Wednesday night in Miami, Rihanna stepped out with a mysterious piece of tape on her left ankle under a pair of lace-up sandals, prompting fans to wonder what RiRi could be covering up. N.Y.C. tattoo artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy confirmed on Instagram the same day that he had, in fact, given the singer some new ink while she was in Manhattan, but stayed mum on what the tattoo was of.

Luckily, he returned on Thursday to share the first photo of the new ink, and it’s seriously cute. “Camo shark for my dear friend @badgalriri,” he captioned a photo of her feet in lacy stilettos, showing an adorable little shark at the front of her left ankle.

Fans have been quick to point out that the tat resembles a stuffed shark that made a guest appearance on Drake’s post-VMAs Instagram. The photo was reportedly taken earlier at Toronto’s CN Tower after the duo made a trip to the aquarium.

Considering Rihanna once swam with sharks in the name of fashion, it’s clear these aquatic creatures have a special meaning for the star.
