All hail Rihanna, undisputed queen of the Met Gala.
Year after year, the singer pulls off head-turning looks at the annual N.Y.C. fashion event. Can anyone top the textured floral flock she wore by Comme des Garçons in 2017? Did anyone get close to touching the 16-foot canary-colored train from two years before?
Honestly, no. Nobody really holds a candle. That's what makes Rihanna, well, Rihanna, and for the 2018 Met Gala, she pulled out all the stops yet again, and she did it all for the theme of "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
She arrived in a gray Margiela mini dress topped with a crystal embellished cape and quite the papal hat. She added plenty of jewelry, too, including stunning Maria Tash earrings, as well as Louboutin heels, a Judith Lieber clutch, and pieces from Cartier.
It's a special look for a special year. Unlike her many previous Met Galas, Rihanna is the co-chair of the entire shebang alongside Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace, which makes 2018 extra special for the singer.
Compared to last year, her look is just as bold. For the 2017 Met Gala, she gave us butterfly vibes in a coral and floral-patterned avant garde look.
Two years before, she quite literally stopped the show in a Guo Pei gown/cape/all-in-one garment that fit the theme of "China: Through the Looking Glass" to a tee.
Leave it to Rihanna to somehow up her game every year.
