Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern just got our hopes up in a huge way.

Although Big Little Lies was only supposed to last for one season, the duo revealed during a Facebook/Instagram live chat Friday that season two is no longer out of the question.

"One of the main questions everyone keeps asking us is is there going to be a season two," Witherspoon said. "We've been talking with the writer, and you guys should Facebook Liane Moriarty and tell her how much you want to see Big Little Lies 2. That would be good. She's thinking about ideas, and so we would love to hear ideas."

As for who they would like to see on BLL 2, Witherspoon said that they imagine Jennifer Lopez would be a good fit. "We thought maybe J.Lo should be in Big Little Lies 2, because I'm a huge fan of J.Lo," Witherspoon said.

Aside from the BLL 2 buzz, the duo dished on which character they would've loved to play on the show this season if they weren't their current characters. Witherspoon said Renata (played by Laura Dern) would've been her pick. "I think I would've been good at it," Witherspoon said, with Dern saying she would've had "so much fun" playing Madeline—Witherspoon's character.

Neither Witherspoon or Dern revealed whether they would return to the show if season two does happen, so we'll have to get our fill of both when the season finale airs this Sunday at 9 p.m.
