Red Carpet File: The Regal-Yet-Bohemian Looks of Oscar Nominee Judi Dench
Dame Judi Dench is a seasoned actress with an Oscar, a Tony, two Golden Globes, two SAG Awards, and eleven BAFTAs already under her belt. Up for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2014 Academy Awards for her role in Philomena, Dench has won 58 acting awards in total from 159 nominations. In 1988, she was made a Dame for services to the performing arts by Queen Elizabeth II, and her career hasn't slowed down since.
Usually wears: Often seen in caftan styles on the red carpet, with a touch of bohemian flair. The actress has mastered the art of the dress coat, usually choosing embellished or textured versions.
Favorite designers: Donna Karan, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Eileen Fisher, and local British labels.
Wildcard factor: Dench is an actress that doesn't have—or need—a style agenda. She takes her work seriously, but believes life is about having fun and dresses for no one but herself.
What we'd like to see: She possesses an innate elegance and regality that comes through in her comfortable and confident style. Dench loves a bit of sparkle, and we hope she glams it up for her big night by choosing something bright and eye-catching that truly represents her fabulous personality.
