The London-based, Austrian-Greek designer and former Halston creative director launched his namesake label in 2005, and just one year later won best “New Generation Designer” at the British Fashion Awards. He made his London Fashion Week debut in 2007, and ever since, his bold, structured designs have been red carpet regulars, appearing on stars like Emily Blunt, Demi Moore, Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester, and more. “I’m interested in cultural icons—women who have made an impact in history through their character,” Schwab told us in Los Angeles recently. “There are so many women who have created that.” His signature body-conscious designs, which often feature rich materials like leather, velvet and jacquard, can be purchased at saksfifthavenue.com and openingceremony.com. If you pick up one of his creations, keep his dressing tip in mind: “The Marios Schwab girl is mystical and she likes enjoying fashion, but she also likes something that is not overshadowing her character and personality.” See who else loves Marios Schwab in the gallery! — Lindzi Scharf Was this page helpful?
