While most of us were admiring Rihanna's risque Tom Ford ensemble at last night's amFAR Inspiration Gala in Hollywood, her sleek, graphic ponytail certainly didn't go unnoticed. Want to try your hand at the look? Start by creating an ultra-straight texture. Work a smoothing cream like Bumble and Bumble's Straight ($29; into damp strands, then use a paddle brush to blow out your hair. Use a tail comb to form the deep side part---the point where your eyebrow arches should line up with the division. Once your part is in place, run a flat iron over your entire length to lock in the bone-straight effect.

A spritz-on gel like DevaCurl's ($20; can help to give your bangs a lasting mirror-like finish, so apply a few pumps, then use a comb to sweep your fringe into place. Run a few drops of hair oil through your the rest of your strands to boost moisture and shine, then gather the length at the nape of your neck to form a low ponytail. Tie off the style with an elastic close to your own hair color, then wrap a strand of hair around the base to conceal the ponytail holder. Though a soft metallic eye and bold orange lip are optional, we think the pairing definitely adds to the Bad Gal RiRi vibe.
