Iconic designer Ralph Lauren, a modern-day cupid?

That’s right, without the fashion creative’s intervention, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas might not have met — let alone be engaged.

At last year’s Met Gala, the soon-to-be married couple attended the annual fashion event together (supposedly just as friends) because they were both being dressed by Ralph Lauren.

Immediately following their first meeting, the actress commented on the experience to late night host Jimmy Kimmel. "We were both wearing Ralph Lauren and we decided to go together. It was fun,” she said, adding: “We were just like, 'Hey let's go together,' and I was like, 'Okay, let's go together.' And it just ended up working out."

On Friday, the blissfully in-love couple paid their thanks to Lauren at the designer’s 50th anniversary event for New York Fashion Week. Dressed in a floor-sweeping black dress, embellished with crystals, Chopra wrapped her arms around Nick, who whispered sweet nothings into his fiancée’s ear.

Ironically, Mr. Ralph Lauren also inadvertently played a role in Chopra’s friend Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s romance. It's reported that Harry and Meghan were set up by Violet von Westenholz, a public relations representative for Ralph Lauren and the royal's childhood friend, at Wimbledon two years ago.

"Meghan had been a part of the London social scene for a while and had slotted into the high society set really easily," a source told E!. "And so when Harry told Violet he was having trouble finding someone, Violet said she might just have the perfect girl for him."

If he ever wants to retire from fashion, there’s no doubt Ralph would find success as a matchmaker.
