With an effervescent brand behind her, Kate Spade used fashion to bring a little more cheer into the lives of many, and that's what her family is remembering after she was found dead of apparent suicide on Tuesday morning in Manhattan.

Spade's actress niece Rachel Brosnahan, who stars in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, broke her silence Wednesday morning about her aunt's passing with a video of much happier times.

In Brosnahan's Instagram post, a beaming Kate Spade dances with her husband Andy to mariachi band music, with a Christmas tree sparkling in the background.

"Knowing Katy, this is how she would want to be remembered," Brosnahan captioned the moment. "She had a light that words can’t capture but touched everyone she came into contact with. She was exceedingly kind, beautifully sensitive, insanely talented, funny as heck and one of the most generous people I have ever known. She was effervescent. Hug your loved ones extra tight today."

"We are all devastated by today’s tragedy,” it read. “We loved Kate dearly and will miss her terribly. We would ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve during this very difficult time.”

Her brother-in-law, actor David Spade, also shared his condolences on Twitter, posting a picture of a smiling Kate at his book signing.
