Rachel Bilson made a few things red carpet official at the Golden Globes last night: The actress and nominee Bill Hader made their couple debut at the awards, and she showed off a set of fresh golden highlights.

Bilson's new hair color was created by celebrity colorist and Redken ambassador Cassondra Kaeding, who also confirmed the change when she shared a cute photo of the couple on her own Instagram account. Kaeding took a subtle approach to Bilson's ombré, adding smoky golden highlights, starting at the mid-lengths of her hair for a lived-in effect. This technique is also known as "sombre" because it mimics that natural, sunkissed glow hair takes on during the summer months.

The actress' deep chocolate brown roots added a cool contrast to her warm ombré highlights, and her smoky eye, flushed cheeks, and rosy lipstick perfectly complimented her edgy, yet soft red carpet look consisting of a black lace and gold embroidered Brock Collection gown.

While everyone may have been buzzing about how glowing and happy Bilson looked while accompanying Hader on the red carpet, it seems like 2020 is going to be a great year for her hair, too.
