Queen Elizabeth is letting loose! The long-reigning monarch enjoyed a night out on the town on Thursday night at celebrity-frequented hotspot The Ivy in London, and she definitely dressed for the occasion.

The Queen, who can usually be seen in various shades of monochrome pastel ensembles, forwent her usual blush pinks and baby blues in favor of a knee-length silver dress with a scalloped hemline. She topped off the elegant frock with a gray patterned shawl with black fringe to keep her warm on the rainy night out.

QEII accessorized in royal fashion with ruby and diamond earrings, multiple strings of pearls around her neck, a black patent leather purse, and a pretty pink lip.

So what, might you ask, was important enough to bring the queen out late on a Thursday night? The monarch was out on the town to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Archduchess Helena of Austria. She attended with her cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, and his wife, and reportedly enjoyed the celebration in a private dining room.

At 91 years old, the queen can still stay out later than you.
