There’s Drama Over Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Date, and It Has to Do with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
It's common knowledge that there's royal drama around the cost of Princess Eugenie's wedding, but apparently the commotion doesn't stop there. The bride-to-be is currently busy preparing for her royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank next month, but apparently, she originally had her sights set on a 2017 wedding date.
A source told Vanity Fair that Eugenie and Jack were ready to say "I do" an entire year ago, but they had to hold off ... because of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
"It’s my understanding that Eugenie and Jack decided some time ago that they wanted to get married, and there was some talk about a wedding in 2017, but they had to wait for Harry to go first," the source said.
Even if you're a royal fanatic, that makes very little sense. Eugenie and Harry are cousins, and while he is closer to the front of the line to the throne, that doesn't mean his day is more special to his own family — right?
Well, Vanity Fair's source said Harry and Meghan's day still had to take precedence, but Eugenie has been chill about it, making her a regular royal anti-Bridezilla.
“There are no bad feelings at all,” the source added. “Eugenie is very close to Harry, and she knows how the system works.”
That's pretty nice of her to do. Her family knows it too, which is allegedly part of why they want her day to be as special as humanly possible. "The feeling among the Yorks is that she deserves her moment in the spotlight and a big royal wedding with all the frills," the source said.
With only a few weeks left to go until Eugenie marries, it's looking like she'll get just that.
