Of course, we're talking about Princess Eugenie, who's set to walk down the aisle on October 12 to marry Jack Brooksbank, a hospitality vet and a brand ambassador for Hollywood royal George Clooney's tequila label, Casamigos. And while the ceremony won't make it onto TV the way the other more high-profile wedding nuptials have, Princess Eugenie's been giving royal-watchers plenty to see. For one, her huge gobstopper of an engagement ring, which features a pink sapphire, has been stopping traffic and making headlines since its debut. According to Good Housekeeping, the unconventional choice is the perfect thing for a royal who's all about keeping up with the latest and greatest in fashion. She's become a staple at London Fashion Week, sitting front row at Issa and attending events for Coach and other big labels. Plus, she's made the rounds wearing names like Elie Saab and Vivienne Westwood. While Eugenie doesn't have the high-watt cache of her sister Beatrice, who attended the Met Ball, she has had a few features in British Vogue and Tatler. EuropaNewswire/Gado/Getty Images Once and For All, Here's How to Pronounce Princess Eugenie's Name But what makes the ring such a great choice? It's not common, that's for sure. The sparkling pink padparadscha sapphire features a halo of diamonds. The stone is named after a type of lotus that sports a similar rosy hue. The gems generally come from Sri Lanka and what sets them apart — and makes them so covetable — is their unique pink-orange glow. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, has a similar ring. When Eugenie's ring was first seen, it drew comparisons for composition and color. Fergie's ring is a ruby surrounded by 10 diamonds and set in yellow gold. According to New Idea, Ferguson didn't pass it down to her daughter. In fact, nobody's quite sure who has that particular piece of bling at he moment. It could be with Prince Andrew or Fergie. Princess Eugenie's Wedding Has A Very Strict Dress Code It's a fitting jewel for a princess that's known to turn heads at every event she attends. Not only did she wear an unforgettable piece of headgear at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, she also continues the fine British tradition of amazing millinery. As ninth in line for the crown, Eugenie doesn't really have any official duties and doesn't have to follow the specific royal protocol that Kate and Meghan Markle stick with. That means she's free to wear as many flamboyant hats as she wants and the currently forbidden tiaras are a go as soon as she gets married. Here's hoping married life doesn't change the royal family's flashiest fashion plate.
