Last March, Princess Diaries director Garry Marshall got our hopes up for a third movie in the franchise by telling People that he planned on spearheading Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan after star Anne Hathaway gave birth. But when the director unexpectedly passed away last summer, we thought that prospects for another sequel were dashed. After all, how could there be a Princess Diaries without Marshall?

But according to Queen—er, actress—Julie Andrews, there could be hope yet. The star told Buzzfeed News that they are considering a move forward with a third film to honor the late director.

“There’s talk about it,” Andrews said. “And [Hathaway]’s very keen to do it. I would very willingly and happily do it.”

“I think we might do it in honor of him,” she added. “Annie had an idea that she wanted to pursue about it and I’m all for it, so if she’d like to …” Hold up, we’re talking about Princess Diaries 3, with Anne Hathaway possibly at the helm?

There's a new queen in town.
