While life in the royal bubble of Kensington Palace seems quite formal, kids are kids no matter where they grow up, and at the end of the day Prince George and Princess Charlotte are 5 and 3-year-olds. Royal inheritors of the throne and literal millions, sure, but 5 and 3-year-olds nonetheless.

The two royal sibs and their baby brother Prince Louis are growing up under Kate Middleton and Prince William's watchful eyes, but every so often, we get a peek at their down-to-Earth lives — and their polar opposite personalities.

A source told US Weekly on Thursday that George is a lot more reserved than his little sis, and tends to have a shy streak. But Charlotte? She sounds like a regular firecracker.

“She’s definitely the biggest character of the three children at the moment," the source said, adding that she loves to be a hostess when people come over to visit. “She’ll come up to guests and ask them if they want tea or coffee or offer them sweets — so adorable!”

George tends to stay further back from the limelight, causing some to call him "camera shy." Which could be true, or he could be a normal 5-year-old who doesn't quite know how to handle hoards of paparazzi cameras yet. Either/or.

As for the youngest of the brood, Prince Louis? Well, he's only 4 months old, but he's already proven to be as easygoing as they come.

“He’s very quiet and content, always smiling and happy," a family friend told Us Weekly.

Sounds like a picture perfect balance, if you ask us.
