Monday is all about Kate Middleton and Prince William as they welcomed their third child, a baby boy, in the early morning. But there’s another royal couple who made headlines on April 23: Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle, who made a very public appearance on the same day of the royal baby’s birth.

The duo stepped out to attend a memorial service for Stephen Lawrence, a black British man who was killed 25 years ago in a racially-charged shooting at the age of 18. The service celebrated his life and legacy, two and a half decades after his death, as well as marked 20 years since Baroness Lawrence founded The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust in memory of her son.

Markle wore a black belted BOSS midi dress with a subtle white print for the occasion, pinning her hair back into a low bun. Tan stilettos and a matching clutch completed her look for the somber occasion. Her fiancé, Prince Harry, whipped out a trusty navy suit and maroon tie.

The royal couple met with Baroness Lawrence and her son Stuart at St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in London before attending the service, where Prince Harry stood up and read a statement on behalf of his father, Prince Charles. As a biracial woman who has faced racism herself, the cause is sure to be close to Meghan’s heart as well.

While Meghan Markle has yet to publicly respond to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby news, Harry’s statement came with an announcement by the rest of the royal family. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news,” Kensington Palace wrote on Twitter.

We can’t wait to see what else they have to say.
