The Pretty Little Liars cast has been making us cry for seven seasons, whether they’re killing off a favorite character (seriously, is Toby really dead?) or making us laugh so hard that tears are shed because the plot lines have really gotten that absurd. But this week they’re making us emotional for a whole different reason: They just wrapped up filming for the very last time.

Along with posting gushing tributes on the final day of filming and getting inked with initials on their “shh” fingers, the Liars posted a photo of their matching rings gifted to them by showrunner Marlene King, and we noticed a hidden meaning behind them.

King presented Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, and Janel Parrish with Cartier “Juste un Clou” (or "just a nail" ) rings, which the brand says represent “an unhindered transformation with a remarkable strength.”

If that isn’t symbolic enough, the rings look like a metal nail shaped into a circle around each finger, possibly representing the final nail in the coffin of the series, so to speak. We can think of quite a few coffins that held a prominent spot in PLL throughout the years, particularly Alison’s in the opening credits.

Could King be sending a hidden message about a major death set to come in the last 10 episodes? According to Keegan Allen, his character maybe didn’t survive that cliffhanger crash. “I don’t think he’s alive. He hit a tree at 75 miles per hour, with no airbags,” Allen previously told InStyle.

Dead or alive, we’ll have to tune in to Freeform in April to watch Allen and the rest of the PLL cast say their final goodbyes to the show. We’re crying already.
