Long live the queen! Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II thrilled Game of Thrones fans when she visited the set of the HBO show yesterday.

During her tour of Belfast, Northern Ireland, she stopped by the studio in a dainty pastel yellow coat and hat to peruse props and meet with actors Lena Headey and Kit Harington from the hit show. The queen made for a rather sharp contrast from the royals who actually appear on the provocative and often violent series. (We have yet to confirm if she has caught the program or read the books by George R. R. Martin on which it's based.)

But the most exciting moment arose when Queen Elizabeth got up close and personal to the show's glorious Iron Throne, which is forged out of a thousand swords of vanquished enemies, according to Game of Thrones legend. She turned to Headey, who portrays Queen Cersei Lannister, for details about the prop. Unfortunately (and much to fans' disappointment), she declined to take a seat in the royal chair—she does, after all, have her own!

Watch her visit in its entirety below (she checks out the throne at around 35:30):
