The commercial in question follows a platinum blonde Kendall Jenner as she poses for a photoshoot (how meta), while a protest rages outside. After a moment’s hesitation, Jenner strips away her blonde wig and joins the group of protestors. Once in the crowd, the model hands a police officer a can of Pepsi, which sends the protestors into a fit of cheers. The brand apologized for the tone-deaf video on Wednesday, stating: "Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position."
