Kim Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner (oh, and Kris, too) have become fixtures at the annual Met Gala red carpet. We’d be lying if we said we didn’t put hours of thought into predicting what they’d wear to the 2018 event, the theme of which bore the tricky title “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

Social media users were a bit disappointed by the family’s sartorial choices (shocker), hoping they’d better adhere to the theme—but did they?

The first Monday in May has now come and gone, and we’ve not only seen but carefully analyzed each KarJenner ensemble.

The outfit: An off-the-shoulder jumpsuit by Off-White's Virgil Abloh that was more than a little familiar looking.

Is it religious? It’s white, but that’s as close as it comes to any reference to Catholicism.

What did Twitter say? Looks like toilet paper (very chic toilet paper, in our opinion!).

What did Kendall say? Not much. She did find time to plug Tiffany (#ad) on her Instagram, though.

The outfit: A shiny gold Versace number by Donatella Versace.

Is it religious: Do a few crosses make something a figment of the “Catholic Imagination”? If so, Madonna is the new Messiah.

What did Twitter say? Pretty, but ultimately lacking in, well, imagination.

What did Kim say? Kim explained that the shimmering gown was inspired by a chainmail and cross-bearing piece from Gianni Versace’s 1997 couture show. The designer was murdered just two weeks after this presentation.

Kris Jenner

The outfit: A Tommy Hilfiger ensemble with gauzy sleeves and a feathery, full skirt.

Is it religious? While the gold embellishments are reminiscent of a stained-glass window, we’re going to go with no.

What did Twitter say? Feather duster.

What did Kris say? No word on the theme, but she sure is proud of her daughters.

The outfit: An all-black Alexander Wang gown, paired with itty-bitty sunglasses.

Is it religious? Long black train, structured bustier, tiny glasses … NOPE. In fact, this may be the least on-theme KarJenner look of the evening. Don’t get us wrong, we like it, but did girl read the invitation?

What did Twitter say? Neo, is that you?

What did Kylie say? “met mooooood”
