Paris Hilton Hired 24/7 Security to Protect Her $2 Million Engagement Ring

Paris Hilton's massive $2 million engagement ring might be the envy of many eyes, and she knows it.

The heiress was given the ring by her fiancé Chris Zylka when he proposed during an Aspen, Co. ski trip over New Year's weekend, and she is dead set on protecting it at all costs. According to E! News, Hilton hired 24/7 security to shadow her and keep an eye on her expensive bling.

The ring is a whopping 20 carats, with another two carats of smaller diamonds around the main jewel. The couple's jeweler Michael Greene said that it was designed by Zylka specifically for Hilton.

“Paris at one point in time told Chris she really loved her mother’s pear-shaped diamond, and when Chris came to me that was his request,” Greene said.

“The pear-shaped really jumped out for him and ultimately for her. He did some fishing, but in the end it was all him. He’s a smart guy, and hangs out a lot with the family, and I think she realized how much she liked her mom’s ring.”

If her engagement ring sparks the need for round the clock security, we're intrigued to see what the inevitable sparkle of her wedding ring ultimately brings.
