A new day, a new headline about Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's tension at Kensington Palace. And it seems as if Buckingham Palace has finally had enough of the tabloid gossip.

Specifically, the Palace is responding to a story that surfaced from The Sun, which alleges that Kate "slapped down" Meghan for berating members of her team at Kensington Palace right before Meghan and Harry's wedding in May.

A source told the publication: "Her and Kate fell out when she b******ed Kate’s staff." Middleton reportedly responded by telling Meghan her behavior was inappropriate. "That’s unacceptable, they’re my staff and I speak to them,” the Duchess of Cambridge allegedly said.

However, the incident between the two duchesses is complete fiction, according to Buckingham Palace. "This never happened," the Palace told The Mirror.

Buckingham Palace rarely steps in to fight off the rumor mill, but perhaps their defense in this case was warranted, because just hours prior to shutting down The Sun's story, Vanity Fair reported that the Duchess of Sussex believes that the British press "is out to get her."

"She feels to a degree the British press is out to get her and while she’s aware of the news and what’s going on, she tries her best not to read all the stories about her," a source told the magazine's royal correspondent Katie Nicholl.

“Meghan is a believer in karma and she doesn’t want to sit there reading negative online stories and comments about herself,” the source explained. Hopefully the Palace's denial will officially put these rumors to rest.
