Oprah Winfrey Will Reunite with Ava DuVernay for Film Adaptation of A Wrinke in Time
Neither space nor time can confine the magic of Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay's working relationship. Entertainment Weekly confirms that Winfrey will work with her old Selma director once again, this time on Disney's A Wrinkle in Time. The retired talk show host has reportedly been cast as Mrs. Which in the film adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's beloved children's fantasy book about a young girl's multi-dimensional journey to save her father.
DuVernay will direct the film, while Oscar-winning Frozen writer Jennifer Lee will pen the script. Besides Winfrey, big names like Amy Adams and Kevin Hart are allegedly among those also being considered for the cast.
Winfrey and DuVernay previously collaborated on the 2014 civil rights drama, Selma, which Winfrey acted in and produced.
The powerhouses also joined forces on DuVernay's upcoming series, Queen Sugar, which will premiere on the Oprah Winfrey Network in September.
