Are you as excited about the 86th Academy Awards nominations as we are? Now that awards season officially kicked off with last Sunday's Golden Globes, we're eagerly awaiting the moment Thor's Chris Hemsworth and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announce this year's Oscar nominees on Jan. 16 at 8:38 a.m. EST.

And as we wait, we can't help but look back at our favorite big-screen moments from 2013: Jennifer Lawrence's not-surprisingly amazing turn in American Hustle; the breakout performance by 12 Years a Slave star (and our style crush) Lupita Nyong'o;Sandra Bullock and George Clooney literally getting lost in space in Gravity; Leonardo DiCaprio breaking the law (and his Golden Globes losing streak) in The Wolf of Wall Street; and of course, Cate Blanchett beautifully losing her cool in Blue Jasmine (but never on the red carpet).

Be sure to check back here first thing tomorrow morning to find out who will score an Oscar nod—then tune in to see who will win a statuette on Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m. EST on ABC.
