It was business as usual on last night's Scandal. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) dove into a new case with Pope & Associates, the White House struggled over Fitz's new gun legislation, and Rowan Pope returned with something shady up his sleeve.

But, surprise! Olivia wasn't wearing her signature power suits this episode. She stuck with a much more, dare we say it, approachable look. "We needed a very Olivia Pope costume, but also something a bit more casual," costume designer, Lyn Paolo, explained. "She wanted to find out what was up with her father and was also dealing with her friend, Katherine, so because of these more personal things, she needed something that looked softer." Even with a more casual wardrobe, she still looked as polished as ever.

At the end of the episode, Pope switched her look back to something a little more edgy, wearing a black zip front Armani jacket. "This jacket is very reminiscent of Maya Pope from last year," Paolo said. "We're still playing with that this year."
