GoT's Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Predicts Jaime Lannister Will Become a White Walker

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau doesn’t yet know his character Jaime Lannister’s fate on Game of Thrones Season 8, but he has one scenario he really hopes doesn’t come true. The actor told InStyle that his worst fear is becoming a White Walker—which is why he thinks it’s bound to happen.

“I really don’t want to have a scene with all those White Walkers because they’re going to turn—I don’t know. I would hate to turn into one of those,” he told InStyle.

“You would think that some of the main characters will end up as one of them, and you really don’t want to. I would hate that. That would suck so much. That means like three hours in the makeup chair. You get in at 4 in the morning to sit in makeup.”

But now that he’s voiced his concern, Coster-Waldau is convinced that creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss will turn him into a White Walker to spite him. “Just talking about it makes me go, ‘Oh, well they’re going to do it now,’” he joked to InStyle.

In fact, this isn’t the first time he’s expressed that particular fear. In an interview with Esquire in August, Coster-Waldau worried once again about becoming undead. “You know some of the main characters are going to get turned. There are going to be some blue-eyed main characters running around. And, god, I hope it’s not me,” he said.

At this point he’s just tempting fate.
