Nicole Kidman’s portrayal of Aline Bernstein, Thomas Wolfe’s lover, in Genius, may have required her to throwback to the 1920s and '1930s, but the Oscar-winning actress looked nothing but modern for the movie’s premiere in New York City Sunday night.

Held at the Museum of Modern Art, the event welcomed Kidman as she arrived hand in hand with husband Keith Urban. She cut a striking figure in a black lace and strategically sheer fall 2016 Rodarte dress that highlighted her affinity for taking fashion ricks. The asymmetric frock—it had one long sleeve and one cold shoulder design—featured a light floral pattern, which she styled with black ankle-strap pumps, a structural, hardware-adorned black clutch, dazzling jewels, and a tied-up 'do.

As for her greatest accessory? Kidman happily posed with Urban, her country-singing beau and lip-sync partner in crime. Talk about the ultimate date night.
