Like many fans and stars who knew George Michael well, Naomi Campbell is still mourning the loss of her friend.

During an appearance on The View Wednesday, the supermodel shared her favorite moments with Michael and opened up how the news of his death affected her. "I'm very sad that he's not here," she told the hosts. "Gone too soon."

Campbell and Michael's friendship sparked back in 1990, when she starred in the music video for the pop icon's song "Freedom '90" alongside Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, and Tatjana Patitz.

"We were all singing the song anyway, because we loved the song," Campbell recalled. While she was lip synching with a smile in the video, it was a tough shoot for her, with the statuesque beauty adding she had a full day of shows before she headed to Michael's set.

"I was the first day, coming from a Thierry Mugler—which we did five shows, from 6:30 a.m. in the morning 'til 3:30 a.m. the next morning, and then had to fly on the first flight out and go Paris to London, right to set," she said.

Following Michael's passing on Christmas Day at the age of 53, Campbell shared her thoughts on Instagram. "There will never be another iconic voice like yours, my first slow dance with a boy was to your voice," she captioned a photo of them smiling together. "R.I.P George #London #freedom90."
