Good thing Jared Leto ditched his knotted Golden Globes ’do and returned to his man bun because there's a new super awesome braid in town—and it belongs to Jessica Chastain.

Last night at the 2015 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, the actress sported a very different kind of hairstyle: a tiered braid and half-up combo, which came together in one very polished look. Combined with light and simple makeup (except for a bold pink lip), the Interstellar actress looked stunning.

From the front her hair resembled a simple ponytail, but a view from the back showed that the hairstyle was anything but ordinary:

The top of her head was combed back into a small, tight knot, and then pieces of hair pulled from behind each ear were gathered together in the back of her head into a tiered effect. This hairstyle proved to be quite a departure from the retro side-swept glamour waves that Chastain and many other actresses sported on the Golden Globes red carpet, just a few days prior.

It was a big night for Chastain as she received the Critics’ Choice MVP award for which she delivered a moving speech about encouraging diversity in Hollywood. And at the event, Chastain explained to reporters about what she learned about beauty from her mother. "My mom is very much a hippie, and my mom actually taught me about natural beauty, I think, more than anything else."
