Justin Bieber! With his legions of "Beliebers" this may not come as a shock, but with over 1.5 million likes the pop star's photo of him and his "uncle Will" has claimed the title for 2013. What were the other major social moments on Instagram this year? Thanksgivukkah, for one. Instagram saw record usage on November 28—Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah—making it the most Instagrammed day of the year with hashtags like #menurkey used to celebrate the two holidays. As far as hashtags go, the most used photo tag of 2013 was #love, with celebrities like Gisele Bundchen (who captioned this adorable photo with her daughter #love) partaking in the trend. Instagram's top geotagged city in the world was New York City, with the top geotagged location in the United States being Times Square, NYC. Twitter's 2013 tops showed the world coming together in loss, love, and celebration. The most retweeted tweets of the year took on a more somber subject—when Glee star Cory Monteith died in July, Lea Michele's short note and accompanying photo was retweeted more than 408,000 times, including retweets in more than 130 different countries. Actor Paul Walker's sudden death generated the second-most retweeted post of 2013, with the confirmation tweet from his staff garnering more than 400,000 retweets. The most-tweetable moments of the year included Pop Francis' papal inauguration, Nelson Mandela's death, the Boston Marathon bombings, and the US government shutdown.
