Mindy Lahiri has officially returned to the Big Apple, and you know what that means: her wardrobe is back to full-on diva mode. While we saw Mindy in a lot of bubblegum hues while she was a student at Stanford, her head-to-toe pink look from last night's episode was a bit more subdued and sophisticated (above). For her memorably hilarious scene with Vanessa Williams, costume designer Salvador Perez dressed her in an Emilio Pucci sweater dress, which he modified by removing the turtleneck, a custom-made raspberry coat, and her signature Chanel bag in a light baby pink. Later on she wore the same look for a video conference with Danny and Peter, where they had an intervention about Mindy’s diet, so Perez had to make sure it was able to do one very important thing: stretchy sleeves. “I needed a dress I could hide candy in!” Mindy Kaling Gets a Major Surprise on This Week’s The Mindy Project John P. Fleenor/FOX Later on, Perez went to the opposite side of the color spectrum and dressed her in shades of blue but he kept her patterned Peter Pilotto top the focal point. “The inspiration for this outfit came from the blouse and then we found the Opening Ceremony skirt to go with it.” He finished off the look with bright orange Rupert Sanderson shoes, which added a nice pop of color.
