Mindy Kaling Goes Blonde with an Awesome Ombré Style

Mindy Kaling showed off a serious style shake-up at Fox's TCA All-Star Party. The actress, writer and all-around funny girl debuted a stunning new hair look, with her naturally raven locks dyed into a gorgeous ombré style with subtle golden and caramel highlights.

Posting a snap to Instagram prior to the event, she introduced the new ’do joking: “I’m blonde now guys, deal with it. @clarisshair & @kateydenno getting me ready for my new life as a R&B singer.”

It's clear she didn't rush into the hair overhaul: while on the red carpet at the event, she told E! News, "It's just something I've wanted to do the past couple of months. And then I was like, why not? I don't know, I kind of just wanted to do it!"

And she also revealed she was inspired to ditch the dark side by a fellow hair chameleon: "Rihanna has been rocking blonde hair on and off for a long time. I really like how it looks on her. I sort of felt like blonde hair should just not be for Caucasian women."

She complemented her new hairstyle with an equally dramatic fashion shake-up. The Mindy Project star had ditched her usual form-fitting dresses in favor of some quirky tailoring—a gold Smythe blazer, stripy shirt, skinny cigarette trousers, and chic pointed pumps with sparkly toe caps.
