Miley Cyrus Went Full Country to Sing “Jolene” with Dolly Parton
Things we love about The Voice: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton’s bromance, Alicia Keys’s fierce no-makeup realness, and now Miley Cyrus covering “Jolene.” The Hannah Montana alum returned to her country roots on Tuesday night and we are here for it.
Cyrus teamed up with her godmother Dolly Parton for a duet on "Jolene" with the a cappella group Pentatonix, and their performance might even be better than the original track. The Voice judge and her “fairy godmother” #twinned in sparkly black and silver looks with blonde mops of hair atop their heads.
As much as we love “Party in the U.S.A” and couldn’t get through a karaoke session without “Wrecking Ball,” this Tennessee girl sounds darn good on a country track. I mean, who could forget “The Climb”? There’s never been a better song to belt out in the shower.
Watch their new rendition of “Jolene” in the video at top, and join us in creating a petition for Cyrus to make a new country album—or better yet, an EP consisting entirely of Dolly Parton covers.
Really, it’s what the world needs.
